![]() I usually use the fn key on my Macbook as a shortcut to the emoji's keyboard when hit twice Is there a way I can adjust/edit the keyboard so that the window's button on the left side of the keyboard becomes a command key? Also the control button on the left side doesn't function as a control key, I am unable to copy/paste/etc. The keyboard is wired so it does work for typing on my Macbook Pro, however there is a 'windows/some sort of symbol' where Apple's command key usually is but when I click it, it doesn't function as so. ![]() I just purchased a mechanical keyboard from Amazon and I am wondering how I set it up. How to use new windows keyboard with Macbook Pro? Hello Community! Somehow, I regret ever upgrade to newer OS version because things work as they were before normally and newer upgrade bring mostly headache. ![]() They both worked before I upgrade to version 10.15.7. But, this doesn't work when I press fn key and command and spacebar, despite it is in the tab shortcuts/App Shortcuts. Weirder is that, once I press fn key together with command and C, it works. I tick the second option which is use F1 F2 and it works for all other functions but not both the command C and command spacebar to switch the language. and Use F1 F2 etc keys as standard function keys. I know that there a system preference and keyboard tap, which has two options to tick show keyboard and emoji. Then, to switch between languages input, I used to use command spacebar, and that doesn't work either. But, the imac keyboard shortcuts behave weirdly.įirst, the Command C for copy stop working. I upgraded both computers to same Mac OS version 10.15.7 and the Macbook Air works just fine. I'm currently use iMac 2012 and Macbook Air. Shortcut key doesn't work properly I upgrade to macOS Catalina version 10.15.7 and weird things happen. I must be overlooking something, any thoughts or advice are appreciated. *1 - On Mojave, there's no longer a "Services" type in Automator, so I tried using Workflow instead. I've tried this on my Mac Pro, which is much older (El Capitan), as well as my MacBook Pro which is running Mojave. I've also tried with different keyboards but same result. I've tried using other shortcut combinations incase it's just the F-keys that are giving me trouble, like shift-option-m for example (and I tried several others too), but still just the beep. I do run Karabiner, but I wouldn't expect that to prevent keyboard shortcuts from working, and when I run Karabiner Event Viewer and press F4, it shows that I am indeed pressing F4. When, from any application, I go to the Services menu and run "calculator", it works 's just the keyboard shortcut that's not working. When I try running the service in automator with the 'run' button, it opens the calculator, just like I expected. Then, go to system preferences, keyboard, shortcuts, find Services, then the automator service I just created, "calculator", turn it on, set the shortcut (F4 in my case, but I've tried several others with no luck). I've followed instructions for creating a keyboard shortcut to open an application, but it's not working, it just beeps when I press F4.Īll the instructions out there seem to be the same - using Automator, create a service (note *1 below), have it Launch Application (Calculator, in my case), then save it ("calculator"). My goal is to open Calculator.app with the F4 key. keys as standard function keys", then uncheck again, and it seems to resolve the issue. In Karabiner-Elements Preferences, under Function Keys, you need to check "Use all F1, F2 etc. ![]() I don't see an option to delete this message, but I've resolved it:
